Humidity will also gradually creep up this weekend, but remain tolerable. Lows over the weekend will be around 60. Evening temperatures will be in the 70's. It's looking dry, as our next best chance for rain won't return until Monday. Poor air quality will also be of concern with the increasing warmth and stagnant air. The first SMOG alert of 2012 has been issued for both Saturday and Sunday. Those with breathing ailments should limit the amount of time spent outdoors and try and remain in air conditioning. The general public has nothing to worry about. This evening looks very nice as we slowly slip through the 70's into the 60's by 10pm to a low around 57 by Saturday morning.

And you can't breathe any easierr across the river cause warnings are also out for Boone Campbell and Kenton counties. Kevin will show us how bad it'll be in his full forecast.
[**06:09:47 PM**] V: if you want to try floating away from the SMOG note that safe boating week begins tomorrow. Mayor mallory today invited us aboard the Cincinnati fire department's river operations rescue boat. It responds to all kinds of emergencies from stranded boats to vessels on fire and all too often boaters going overboard. I; Ofc Richard braun we have two gentlemen over here riding their boat skies, and as you can see going by us, there are tree limbs, and trees going by, and when you have a wake, we don't see those. And when they go a little bit too fast, and they come up on this, it's kind of a recipe for disaster. More than 330 organizations across the country will take part in National safe boating week but the key is staying safe all summer long.

[**11:16:53 PM**] V: weather if you're a fan of warm temperatures, Cincinnati is going to feel like heaven. After seeing temperatures in the mid 80s this afternoon, temperatures this evening will gradually drop from the 70s and end up in the upper 60s by Sunday morning. The majority of the area will see mostly clear skies however there is a chance we could see some patchy fog in some of the valleys. Sunday will look a lot like Saturday with plenty of sunshine and temperatures back in the mid 80s by afternoon. With the heat and a calm wind a SMOG alert has been issued for the tristate. That means the air quality won't be the greatest. For those of you with asthma/respirat ory problems, you know to limit your outdoor activities. For the rest of us, we're asked to conserve energy during the prime time heating hours. Mow your grass and fill up your car early in the morning or late in the evening to help the air quality. We'll start the work week with some scattered showers. The best chance for rain will come late Monday/early Tuesday. Behind the rain, temperatures drop a bit for Tuesday with highs in the mid 70s. Then it's right back to the heat. Wednesday through Friday we'll have partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies with temperatures rising each day by the time we head into memorial day weekend temperatures will be in the 90s. Enjoy the sunshine!

[**05:08:02 PM**]  V: in more local news, the private group renovating music hall wants more money from the city double the amount originally proposed. The music hall revitalization company is asking the city to contribute ten million dollars instead of five. The group also set a June first deadline for the transfer of the historic but outdated venue to private ownership. Council members we spoke with support the concept. The big issue is does the city have the cash? I: yvette Simpson "we anticipate a tough budget year. Do I support music hall? Absolutely. I'm certainly supportive of transferring the property, whether we have the money to make it 10 million dollars I don't know. Most of us are hugely supportive of the project. We'll do what we can.

The rest to be funneled to the port authority, city facilities, covering fort Washington way and public art. Cincinnati will start to get a share of the profits this summer from the Cleveland casino, which opened last night. Horseshoe Cincinnati is expected to produce $20 million a year for the city. Councilman winburn says he's been told by the city's budget director to expect less. I: charlie winburn Cincinnati council "well, I met with lea just recently in my office here and she confirmed that it's going to be more like $14 million. I was shocked. I thought like, I was really shocked. So, there was some miscalculations regarding the numbers. [**05:34:13 PM**]  This summer Cincinnati is getting a lesson in art by these such pieces. News five's Valerie abati took a trip downtown to get an up close look at the new works. Live: "while you're out and about in Cincinnati this summer, take a look around. You might find yourself standing beside some of cincinnati's finest art. V: I: Karen bahl/works downtown I love it. I think it's great. Have you seen this before? No I haven't. But I think it's really nice what they're doing. Works of art from rembrant to duveneck are popping up all over the city. It's part of Taft museum's "art for all" program. I: tricia suit/marketing manager Taft Museum of Art "we just want to remind people about the great collection we have here at the Taft. And prompt some conversations. With Taft marking its 80th anniversary this year the museum wanted to celebrate Charles and Anna's gift to the city. I: tricia suit/marketing manager Taft Museum of Art "to celebrate that gift, we wanted to really give the art back to the people of Cincinnati, where it would be very accessible to them, in their own neighborhoods. From Fountain Square to mt. Adams 80 works of art will be displayed for everyone's free enjoyment. Even METRO is getting on board. I: Jill DUNNE/METRO public affairs manager "we were excited they wanted to put a painting on the route 1 BUS because that meant we'd get to share it with our passengers. They get to share the ride with art that they might not normally see. These aren't the originals but they're still treated with an automotive clear coat all on a durabond material. Ensuring that all residents and visitors will be able to enjoy them all summer long. VO: Karen bahl/works downtown I think it brings a lot of diversity. It brings culture and shows the art we have in Cincinnati and I think it's great to show to tourists. Live: "these works of art will decorate the city through September. After which, there will only be two permanent murals on display; One in Bellevue Kentucky and another in over the rhine. Valerie abati news 5."
